A funeral service, celebrating the life of Estella G. Dountz, 95, of Pickerington, formerly of Morristown, TN., will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E. Main Street in Kirkersville, with Pastor Peter I. Ray as celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus. The family will receive friends on Friday morning, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Estella died Tuesday morning, February 7, 2017, following a brief illness. She was born March 8, 1921, in Columbus, the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Murray) Thompson. She was a lifelong homemaker. A fabulous cook, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and was a big reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing euchre. She is survived by her loving family: sons George (Suzanne) Dountz and Raymond Doug (Terri) Dountz,3 grandchildren: Mark, Todd and Benjamin, and 4 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley, Zoe and Mia; along with her brother and sister-in-law Bill(Marti) Dountz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Dountz, who preceded her in death in 1991; her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Gordon Porterfield, her siblings Arthur and Howard Thompson and Nancy Keckley. Memorials in her honor may be directed to the Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
