A graveside service celebrating the life of Estella “Sue” Murphy, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at Newark Memorial Gardens with Pastor Victoria Burgoon officiating.
Sue was born June 26, 1941 in Groveport, Ohio to the late Louis and Sarah (James) Malherbe. She passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at her home following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Sue was self-employed cleaning homes and businesses. She enjoyed boating, motorcycling, and gardening.
She is survived by her loving husband, Roland “Ron” Murphy; sons, Ken (Sheri) Monroe of Newark and David Monroe (Karla Portier) of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-children, Ronald (Susan) Murphy of Glenford, Mari (Steve) Lovar and Tammie (Mark) Hale, all of Newark; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Leota) Malherbe; sister, Myra (Keith) Chaney-Doles; sister-in-law, Karen Malherbe; brother-in-law, Leo Agin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Charles, Elton, and Timothy Malherbe and Bobby James; and sisters, Donna (Ralph) Jenkins, Rosemary Agin, and Wilma (Richard) Phillips.
