Esther Ruth Cayton

A graveside inurnment service celebrating the life of Esther Ruth Cayton, age 88, of Roseville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, at Zion Ridge Cemetery.

Esther was born February 21, 1933 in Thornville, Ohio to the late Owen Daniels and the late Lillian (Fisher) Daniels Brown. She passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Crestview Rehabilitation in Lancaster.

Esther was formerly employed with Larson Manufacturing. She was a volunteer for the holidays at Fairview Assisted Living in New Lexington. Over the years she made many gift bags for the residents and her friends and helpers still carry on in her name. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville.

She is survived by five children, Teresa George of Pleasantville, Larry (Connie) Cayton of Lancaster, Betty Cayton of Roseville, Wade Cayton of Nashport and Lucinda Price of Ironton; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Binckley of Newark, Mary Wilkins of Fresno and Martha (John) Lutz of Millersport; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and her cat, Penny.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 22 years, Charles W. “Lucky” Cayton, whom she married February 27, 1958 and who preceded her in death in June of 1980; son-in-law, Ralph George; three brothers, Ralph Fisher, Chester Daniels and Russell Daniels; and a sister, Clara Wilson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Perry Presbyterian Church for the “Esther and Friends Christmas Bag Fund”.
