Eugene A. Calewarts

A memorial service celebrating the life of Eugene A. Gene Calewarts, age 75, of Hebron, will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 108 North Seventh Street, Hebron. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.Gene was born January 25, 1940 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Nettie (Caelwaerts) Calewarts. He passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Mount Carmel West.Gene was a graduate of Premontre High School in Green Bay and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Schneider National Carriers in Green Bay after 25 years of service. He had also been employed with Diana Manufacturing in Green Bay for 16 years. Following his retirement he was employed part-time as a bartender at Bobs Bar in Buckeye Lake.Gene enjoyed traveling, especially to Biloxi, Mississippi, and also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casinos and an occasional spin on the dance floor. While living in Wisconsin, he had been a volunteer firefighter. He loved spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Carole E. (Ricketts) Calewarts, whom he married July 2, 1983; two children, Steve (Annette) Calewarts of Gurnee, IL and Tammy (John) Gallagher of Pewaukee, WI; step-daughters, Connie Keiffer and Cathie Jackson (Ed Barker), all of Hebron; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin (Vi) Calewarts and Norbert (Marion) Calewarts, all of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and many friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Calewarts.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for the Calewarts family.
