A funeral service for Eugene Bell Gene Livingston, age 91, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Rocky Fork Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Monday, December 4, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Gene was born January 5, 1926 in Newark, Ohio to the late Nimrod and Bessie (Hoyt) Livingston. He passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during World War II. He retired from B & O Railroad where he had been a Railroad Engineer for over 30 years. He had also been the owner of the Mainliner Bar in Newark for over 30 years. He was a member of the Thornport Amvets Post 51 and the Moundbuilders VFW Post 1060. He is survived by a nephew, Wayne Roach of Thornville; and three nieces, Janna Anderson, Linda Francis and Kathy Pennybaker, all of Newark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and seven sisters. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Gene and his family.
