Eugene E. Dyer

A memorial visitation, celebrating the life of Eugene E. Dyer, 89, of Thornville, will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 108 N. 7th Street, Hebron. Eugene was born in St. Louis, MO on February 15, 1929 to the late William Carter and Pauline (Kick) Dyer.  He passed away at Altercare in Thornville on January 18, 2019. Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam War, retiring after 22 years of service.  After retiring from the Air Force, he became a systems analyst for several companies and then owned and operated, along with his wife, Williams Restaurant in Hebron for 10 years.  He was a member of Toast Masters International in Columbus; volunteered at the Columbus Museum of Art; enjoyed the theatre, music, 3-D photography and visiting The National Museum of The US Air Force near Dayton. Survivors include his children, Leigh (Judith) Dyer, Louise (James) O’Bryan and Melissa (Ken) Johnson; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie (Blincoe) Dyer; and brother, Richard Dyer. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Eugene to The National Museum of The US Air Force.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
