Eugene "Gene" Kocher

A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Eugene “Gene” Kocher, 89, of Frazeysburg, will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Obetz Cemetery, 4455 Groveport Road, Obetz. Friends may call at the cemetery one hour prior to the graveside service, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Gene was born in Reese, Ohio on January 22, 1932 to the late William and Florence Kocher. He passed away at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on July 15, 2021. Prior to retirement, he worked as a security guard at Holophane for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, mowing his lawn, cutting wood and spoiling his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Frances Hill Jacobs Kocher; children, Mark (Barb), Rod, Debbie (Don), Annette, Juanita (John), Eugene Jr. and Tara (David); and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gene to St. Jude Research Hospital or to the Disabled America Veterans.
