A Home Going Service, celebrating the life of Eva Eloise Weaver, 84, of Newark, will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 383 Washington St. Newark, with Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Eva was born in Garten, WV on April 17, 1934 to the late Waverly Otis and Sally Bell (Ratliff) Matthews. She passed away at the Chestnut House in Newark on December 21, 2018. Prior to retirement, Eva was a service representative with Alltel for 22 years. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was past president of the Usher Board, served as a Deaconess and was presented with the Woman of the Year award. She volunteered with the Licking County March of Dimes and was a former member of Order of Eastern Star and TWIG 17. She enjoyed sewing, doing yard work and spending time with her loving family and friends. Survivors include her children, Evan B. Weaver and Kai L. Craig; grandchildren, Erica N. Craig and Halle R. Craig; siblings, Marion “Reece” English, Flora (John) Redd, Robert (Patricia) Matthews and Geraldine “Jeri” (Charles) Griffin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Robert B. Weaver; and siblings, Ernestine Blaney, Sylvester Matthews, Louis Matthews, Elizabeth Baker, Christine Ramey, Ruby Davis and Martha Ann Matthews.
