Evalyn Ann Crawford

October 23, 1934 — January 3, 2024

Evalyn Ann Crawford, 89, formerly of Pataskala, passed away January 3, 2024, in Sunbury following an extended illness. She was born October 23, 1934, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Daniel Smales and Merle (Bowman) Smales Carter.

Evalyn was a former member of the Etna United Methodist Church, and the First Presbyterian Church of Pataskala; the Anna Miller Elks Lodge where she was a past president; PTA, and Southwest Licking Athletic Boosters.

She enjoyed playing the piano, fishing, camping, and boating. She was enthusiastic about flea markets, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving family: daughters Susan (Rick) Blazer, Heidi (Chip) Krebs; sons Fred (Linda) Goldstein, David (Erin) Goldstein, Mike (Denise) Goldstein, Douglas (Ann) Crawford; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with her sister Donna (John) Ketner, brother-in-law Tom Todd and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gene Smales; her sister Mary Agnes Todd; and her husband W. Douglas Crawford.

Honoring Evalyn’s wishes, there will not be services at this time. The family will hold a memorial service in the spring.
