A funeral service celebrating the life of Evelyn D. Punkie McCullough, 83, of Thornville, will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Memorial Church, 2600 Walnut Rd., Route 79, Millersport, with Pastor Bill Beard officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 S. Main Street on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 one hour prior to the funeral service at the church, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Evelyn was born in Davisville, WV on April 15, 1934 to the late Charles and Ocie (Matheny) Collins. She passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on March 31, 2018. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, gardening, mowing her yard, camping, NASCAR and was an avid reader. Evelyn had a loving and ornery personality, had a contagious smile, loved everyone she met, and she especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Archie R. McCullough, whom she married August 16, 1953; son, Mark (Annette) McCullough; daughters, Crystal (Steve) Salyer and Cheryl (Scott) Friel; sisters, Beulah Lemon, Violet Wiseman and Gracie Wigal; brother, Davie (Ruth) Collins; grandchildren, Danielle (Ross) Pipes, Josh (Katie) Drumm and Nicole Friel; one great grandson, Beau Drumm; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Harry Collins.
