Firl Junior Crist

Graveside funeral services, celebrating the life of Firl “Junior” Crist, 89, of Millersport, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, in the Millersport Cemetery with Pastors Tom Jacobson and Steve Bush officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow in the Grace Lutheran Church in Thornville.

Junior passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born in Glenford, on September 24, 1934, the son of the late Firl and Florence (Lattimer) Crist. He was a graduate of Glenford H.S. class of 1954 and had retired as the caretaker of Whetstone Medical clinic in Millersport.

He loved the Cleveland Indians and OSU Football. He also enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard neat. He swept the porch and front of his house every day. He also enjoyed sharing his home grown produce with neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Mitchell, whom he married on March 16, 1957, in Mt. Perry, his son Jeffrey Lee Crist, his sister Mary Crist and his two remaining sisters-in-law Lucille (Mrs. Don) Crist and Lillian (Mrs. Bob) Crist; along with his many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Juniors wishes, there will not be calling hours.

The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, 65 East Columbus Street, P O Box 284, Thornville, OH 43076.
