Florence Harlow

Funeral services, celebrating the life of Florence Harlow, age 86, of Millersport, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019, in the Millersport United Methodist Church, 2310 Refugee Street in Millersport, with Pastor Jim Condrey as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 17, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Millersport Chapter #301, Order of Eastern Star will hold services at 7:45 p.m. Thursday evening. Additional visitation will be held Friday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Florence passed away early Monday morning, January 14, 2019, in Lancaster, with her family at her side. She was born June 9, 1932, in Kearny, New Jersey; the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Jane (Craig) Mackey. A lifelong homemaker, she was an active member of the Millersport community, belonging to the Millersport United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the Choir and was active with the United Methodist Women, Millersport Eastern Star #301, and Alpha Mother’s club. She met Richard A. Harlow, her husband of 65 years, while he was stationed in New York City. He preceded her in death last August 10, 2018. She and Richard enjoyed spending over thirty years at their retirement home in Okeechobee, Florida, where they played cards, and enjoyed their many friendships with others in their community. Florence also enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and their camping adventures with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving family: children John (Brenda) Harlow, Heather (Jeff) Terry and Karen (Chuck) Reedy, all of Millersport; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Blevins, Kristin (Adam) Keller, Justin (Molly) Terry, Christopher (Amy) Reedy, Nathan (Kathryn) Reedy, Ashlea, Kevin and Chance (Natalie) Harlow; thirteen great-grandchildren, Rilyn, Coltyn, Kiley and Cody Reedy, Emily, Ava and JC Blevins, Hank, Mack and Duke Reedy and Kenlea Keller, Landon and Emma Roush. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by her only sister Elizabeth Barrett on September 29, 2018. The family prefers that memorial gifts be given to the Millersport United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 296, Millersport, 43046. The family would like to thank their faithful caregiver, Wanda Wells, for her loving care of Florence over the last two years.
