Floyd "Chester" Norris

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Floyd Chester Norris, age 81, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens with military honors being observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Floyd was born in Gaylord, MI on October 22, 1936 to the late Ernest and Effie (Pack) Norris. He passed away at his residence on December 23, 2017. Floyd proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he worked for Kokosing and Dowell. He was a member of the American Haflinger Association and the American Legion, post #85. Floyd enjoyed Haflinger horses, farming, hunting, fishing, but most important was the time he spent with family and friends. Survivors include his loving daughters, Gwenna (Benjamin) Cuthbertson, Kimberly Spencer and Linda Hernandez; brother, Stanley (Shirley) Norris; sisters, Betty Garee and Linda (Jerry) Hayes; grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Braeden, Courtney and Heather; great granddaughter, Skyler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
