Floyd Cecil “Boog” Norman, age 64, of Thornville, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Floyd was born June 23, 1960, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late James and Vivian (Childers) Norman. He was employed with Denier Electric Company for many years, first in Cincinnati and later in Columbus. He began working for Denier as an electrician, ended his career as Vice President of Construction in Columbus, and along the way mentored many and made lifelong friendships. Floyd was blessed with many friends; he loved taking long rides on his motorcycle with them and driving his golf cart around Buckeye Lake to visit them in the neighborhood. He was also an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and OSU Buckeyes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Norman; son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Katie Droder of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jack, Ella, Maddie, and Livie; a brother, Mike Norman of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; several brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved Gram, Florence Collins; his grandfather, Floyd Norman; and a brother, Doug Norman.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at the Aladdin Shrine, 1801 Gateway Circle in Grove City. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. and a service will begin at 2 p.m. Refreshments and a time to share memories will follow.
