Floyd Romine

Floyd Red Romine, Jr. of Somerset, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Pickering House Hospice in Lancaster, with his family by his side. He was born July 16, 1925 in Rutland, Ohio, the son of the late Floyd E and Cora (Saxton) Romine. He served honorably in the US Navy during WWII, aboard the ship SS John Hope. Floyds love of the land and farming meant a lot to him. He and his wife operated the Triple R Trucking Company with their son David. Floyd was a member of Royalton Community Church. He is survived by his loving family: wife Regina M. (Conkle) Romine of 54 years, sons Daniel Lee (Phyllis) Romine Sr., Jim E. Romine, David G. (Robin) Romine; daughter Mary C. Romine; brothers Clyde (Cindy) Romine, Lafe Romine; sister Kathy Romine, along with his daughter-in-law Lilly G. Romine, sister-in-law Pamela Bennington, and brother-in-law Claude E Conkle, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, along with a special nephew Larry Romine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret (Rice) Romine, son William James Romine, his brothers Wayne, Cliford, Raymond, Derrell, Benny Bennington; and his sisters Helen Turner, Hazel Kinsell and Lena Levane. Friends may call on Friday evening, January 23, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville, where funeral services celebrating his life will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 with Pastor Larry Horn officiating.
