Frances "Chessie" I. Davenport

A visitation, celebrating the life of Frances I. “Chessie” Davenport, 61, of Newark, will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and for your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing. Private services will be held for the family. Chessie was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 17, 1959 to the late Dale Garber and Donna (Bertelin) Garber, who survives. She passed away at the Morrison House in Zanesville on February 15, 2021. Chessie was a receptionist with Miracle Ear in Heath for many years. She enjoyed watching horror movies, listening to music, but most important was the time she spent with her loving children grandchildren and friends. In addition to her mother, survivors include her children, Mandy (Alan) Ewing, Dale (James Kedigh) James, Travis (Staphany Block) James and Shawnna (Andrew Augustson) Vermillion; grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, James, Christopher, Ryker, Jayden, Eli and Donovan; siblings, Dale, Danny, Dawn and Denise; loving pets, Walley and Naomi; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Colby. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Chessie to Genesis Hospice Care, Morrison House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Chessie and her family.
