Frances Lucille Kocher

February 5, 1945 — April 2, 2025

Frances Lucille Kocher, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on Monday, February 5, 1945, in Hornsby, Tennessee.  Frances brought much joy and warmth to all those around her throughout her full and beautiful life.

Residing in Zanesville, OH, Frances was the heart of her family, a devoted homemaker whose life was centered around the love and care she gave her family. Known for her gentle spirit and caring nature, she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, filling her home with laughter and love.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, her sweet nature and her infectious smile. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and was always sending Christmas cards to everyone. Frances loved to sit and watch the red birds and took pleasure in feeding them. She will also be remembered for her contagious laughter and the jokes she would tell and play on others.

Frances loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She always quoted John 3:16, because she knew she would spend eternity and be with her Lord and family.

Frances was preceded in death by her father Otis Hill, her mother Ophia Hill, and her beloved husband, Eugene Kocher, whom she will join once again at Obetz Cemetery. She is survived by her three devoted children: children, Juanita Marie (John Steele, Jr.) Touvelle, Tara Poland, Junior Kocher, Rodney Kocher, Debby (Don) Oakleaf, Mark (Barb) Kocher and Annette Kocher; siblings, Judy McCage, James Hill, Faye Williams and Betty Mattingly; as well as numerous grandchildren and great granddaughters who were the pride and joy of her life. Frances was also preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service in Newark for their support and compassionate care during this difficult time.

A private burial will be held in Obetz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to honor Frances's memory make a donation to a charity of their choice, spreading kindness and compassion in her name, just as she did throughout her life.

Frances Lucille Kocher will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, warmth, and kindness will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
