Frances A. Taylor

FRANCES A. TAYLOR (nee Ruland), “Fran” 95, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by her three sons. She was born February 12, 1927 to the late Floyd Ruland and Annabelle Ruland (nee Hale), in Zanesville, Ohio. Fran attended Philo High School and began working at Hiram Habib & Company in Zanesville. To support the war effort from home she worked at a warplane factory during WWII. In 1946 she married Joseph Pattison and they had a son, Joseph (Joe). During this time, she worked many years at Nicol’s Restaurant and the Steak & Stein. Later in life Fran married Walter Taylor, Jr. and moved to Licking County. They had two sons, Patrick (Pat) and Timothy (Tim). Fran raised her family living in Dogwood Lakes where she remained the rest of her life surrounded by her loving neighbors and dear friends. She participated in a bowling league, widows club, numerous card clubs and loved to gamble. She was a country music fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. She loved to travel by cruise and visited several European countries as well as the entire Caribbean. Fran loved to shop and was always eager for a road trip! A fiercely devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved with all her heart. She was always proud of her sons and grandsons and bragged about them at every opportunity. To know Fran was to love her. Though her health was failing in recent years, her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing on. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Pattison, Patrick Taylor (Tyra) and Timothy Taylor; cherished grandsons, Joey Pattison (Michelle), Blake Taylor and Evan Taylor; various family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Taylor, Jr. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 56, South Main Street, Thornville, Ohio, 43076, with a funeral service immediately following and led by Pastor Scott England. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055. The family is grateful for their wonderful service and care.
