Frances Carol Townsley

A memorial gathering celebrating the life of Frances C. “Fran” Townsley, age 59, of Newark, will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, at Wright Memorial United Methodist Church, 735 Mount Vernon Road in Newark.

Fran was born May 23, 1959 in Ridgewood, West Virginia, the youngest of 14 children, to the late Vardman and Elsie (Sloane) Lilly. She passed away on the morning of November 12, 2018 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Fran enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music, watching good movies and playing with her grandchildren. She was a generous and big hearted woman and she will be forever missed.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Townsley; son, Nicholas (Heather) Lilly; daughter, Amy (Jason) Sanders; step-sons, John, Shane and Stephen Townsley; five grandchildren, Alana and Mason Sanders as well as Dylan, Ethan and Paige Lilly; brothers, Daryll Lilly, Nathan (Cathy) Lilly, Norman (Merry) Lilly, Denzel (Diane) Lilly and Mark Lilly; and sisters, Elaine Delp, Barbara (Louie) Tyson and Grace Harmon; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Doshia Levingston and Eloise Lilly; and brothers, Lawrence, Herbert and Dale Lilly.
