Frank Grove Cooperrider

Frank Grove Cooperrider, age 83, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, in Newark, Ohio. He was born on November 16, 1940 in Thornville, to the late Virgil and Velma (Grove) Cooperrider. Frank was a 1958 graduate of Thornville High School and then received his Bachelor's degree from Capital University. He began teaching junior high math in the Cleveland area, then at Roosevelt Junior High in the Newark City School district before finishing his 30 year career at Lakewood Junior High. While teaching he received a Master's degree from Ohio University. Frank was also a farmer in partnership with his brother Robert until 2014 when he sold his portion to his nephew Terry. He enjoyed going to casinos and visiting friends at the Moose. Frank is survived by brothers Jesse (Lurinda) Cooperrider and Robert (Kathy) Cooperrider; sister Lou Edith Helsel; seven nephews; five nieces and many great nephews and great nieces along with many friends. Frank is proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond and David and sister Vera. Although he is no longer with us, Frank will continue to teach as he has donated his body to Ohio State University. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 - 7:00 pm at the Moose Lodge, 8985 Blackbird Lane, Thornville. Please come and share a memory of Frank.
