A funeral service celebrating the life of Frank E. Turner, age 74, of Buckeye Lake and Columbus, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Burial will take place in Homer Cemetery, Homer, Ohio. Frank was born May 31, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Eugene Turner and Margaret (Price) Garrabrant. He passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home in Columbus. Frank was retired from the Ohio Department of Corrections where he had been a guard. In his spare time he also did carpet installation. He loved to camp, fish and enjoyed spending time outside with his family. He also loved cowboy boots, his truck and watching Westerns. He is survived by his loving wife, Mitzie J. (Chrisman) Turner, whom he married August 27, 2005; three daughters, Trenna Akers (Rick), Sheila Turner and Misty Montgomery (Ty); son, Barry Trisler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Keith and Marylin Chrisman; special nephew, Anthony Chrisman; several grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, Maggie and Hershey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive SW, Heath, OH 43056.
