A memorial visitation for Frank Bud Letherman Ables, 88, of Pataskala, will be held on Thursday, Jan 5, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. in the Kirkersville Chapel of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Graveside services with full military honors by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will follow on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Kirkersville Cemetery, where Frank will be buried next to his partner of 28 years, Pat Murray. Frank died December 31, 2016, in Columbus following an extended illness. He was born June 30, 1928 in Harrison Township of Licking Co., the son of the late Lester and Louella (Dare) Ables. He grew up in Outville, attended Kirkersville schools, served honorably in the US Army during WWII, and was a grocer and meat cutter for many years. Frank was a hard worker, worked full time until he was 82; and enjoyed spending porch time with his family. He was a resident of Ft. Myers Florida for over 30 years and while there, was an active member of the American Legion. He went on the Honor Flight this past year. He is survived by his loving family including his children: Karen Ramsey, Randy (Betty) Ables, Sandy (Alfred) Kass, Doug Ables, Tanisha Ables; his sisters Jean and Donna; 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his partner Pat Murray and his brother Larry. His beloved canine companions Beamer and Misty have also preceded him in death. Frank was also loved by Duane, Rob and Tom Murray. HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for Frank and the Ables family.
