Fred D. Davis, Sr. 68, of Newark, passed away on October 20, 2020 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newark, Ohio on June 20, 1952 to the late William J. A. and Gladys (Cummings) Davis A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Fred, will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Brandon Moore officiating. Fred was a man of few words, but he was a very loving and kind and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. He had a great love of family and old cars. He was a Ford man but loved his “57” Chevy. He was a 39 year member of the Newark Eagles Club. Fred was a very hard-working man and never gave up, helping everyone he knew, to a fault at times. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary C. (Siegle) Davis; daughter, Robin (Thomas) Parker; sons, Fred D. (Carol) Davis, Jr. and Mark E. Davis; grandchildren, Nicole (Andrew) Botter-Dillon, William Kiser, Shannon Roderick, Paul Silverwood, Rylan Davis, and Kaysen Davis; great grandchildren, Neal Botter-Dillon, Ember Sky Kiser, Zander Silverwood and Zayla Silverwood; brothers, Rex (Jean) Davis, Ted Davis, Tim (Cinder) Davis and Richard Davis; sister-in-law, Debra (Glenn) Speight; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William J. Davis, Raymond F. Davis; and great grandson, Zyler Silverwood.
