A funeral service celebrating the life of Frederick L. Kinser, Sr., 70 of Newark, will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Ethan Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksontown Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Friday, April 28th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Frederick was born in Amsterdam, Ohio on June 12, 1952 to the late Earl W. and Dorothy J. (Thompson) Kinser. He passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio on April 24, 2023. Prior to retirement, Frederick was an insulation installer for many years. He was a member of the Licking Valley Coon Hunters Association and enjoyed going to the Newark High School, Class of 1971 reunions. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing euchre, watching NASCAR and working and keeping his lawn immaculate. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan and any other football games between August and September, and loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his significant other, Deborah K. Armstrong; children, Frederick Lee (Melisande) Kinser, Jr., Victoria Sue McCanless, Jonathan L. (Lisa) Kinser, Justin M. (Shannon) Miller, Jennifer B. Miller and Roy (Shelly) Wickham, Barb Wickham, James (Gena) McCanless; grandchildren, Austin, J.J., Cody, Kaitlyn, Kailey, MaKenna, Arlie, Thomas, Holly, Ethan, Lyndsey, Jonathan, Grace, Brittany, Ronnie, Cody and Ryan; great grandchildren, Amelia, Bentley, Emma, Owen, Kai, Willow and Ashley; brothers and sisters, Robert (Mary) Kinser, Ruth Ann Milhoan, Paul “Bud” (Norma) Kinser, Mary Jo (Mike) Simpson, Darrell Kinser, Cindy (David) Cole, Kathy (Bryson) Parlett and Peggy (Michael) Moore; former wives, Deborah Sue Tapp and Teresa Domenici; special friend, Mike “Moon” Caughell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Earl “Skeeter”, Della “Sis”, Ronald, Richard “Dick” and Joyce. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Frederick to the Licking Valley Coon Hunters Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
