Frederika Armstrong

Frederika Armstrong, age 88, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).Frederika was born December 12, 1925 in Amsterdam, Holland, to the late Stefanus and Antonia G. (Ras) Witsen. She met her husband, Gene, during World War II when he was stationed in Europe. She immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. Citizen. Frederika was a bookkeeper for a number of years at Bob Daniels Buick in Columbus. She loved her pet cats and enjoyed swimming at the YMCA.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Armstrong on January 27, 2004; and by a sister.She is survived by friends, Paul and Darcie Waddell and Arlene Armstrong, all of Heath.According to her wishes, there will be no service or calling hours observed.Memorial contributions may be made to the Cat Welfare Association, 741 Wetmore Road, Columbus, OH 43214.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Frederika during this time.
