Gaila Jean Banks

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Gaila Jean Banks, 59, of Newark, will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Kittle officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.Gaila was born in Newark, Ohio on March 26, 1956 to the late June (Robinson) McKee. She passed away at her residence on August 27, 2015.Prior to retirement, she was a nurses aide for over 25 years. Gaila enjoyed making ceramics, baking, cooking, watching humming birds, but what she enjoyed most, was spending time with her grandchildren and family.Survivors include her three sons, Josh A. (Melissa) Banks, Joseph H. (Sara) Banks IV and Sean M. (Mindy) Banks; five granddaughters, Allayna Banks, Nataley Banks, Olivia Body, Aubrie Banks and Kendall Banks; three brothers, Donnie McKee, Darren (Kathy) McKee and Doug McKee; two sisters, Sheryl (Rick) Stroud and Joanne (Dan) Blevins; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henry Banks III in 2007.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gaila to the American Cancer Society.
