Garry Ferguson, 71, of Heath, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Born in Willow Wood, Ohio, Garry spent his life working with his hands, building decks and keeping the grounds of various apartment complexes. His craftsmanship extended beyond work—he found joy in creating intricate birdhouses and wishing wells, each a testament to his skill and patience.
Garry also had a deep love for his dogs, who were his constant companions and brought him great comfort and joy. They were always by his side, sharing in his quiet moments and daily routines.
Beyond his love for building, Garry was an avid reader who never missed a newspaper crossword puzzle, always challenging himself with words as much as he did with wood and tools. He cherished his family deeply, especially his wife and stepchildren. He was a devoted stepfather, playing a significant role in raising his daughter, whom he loved dearly.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Peters and Thomas Ferguson, his brother Dave Ferguson, and his great-granddaughter Raven.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Spangler) Ferguson; stepchildren, Shanna Jordan (John) and Troy Snider (late wife Samantha); his grandchildren, Brianna, Kenzie, and Chance; and great-grandchildren, Roman and Ember. He also leaves behind his siblings, Gayle Garrison (Kyle), Amy Ferguson, and Tommy Ferguson (Martha), along with many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his kindness and humor.
A special thanks to Margie and Steve for helping take care of Garry during his battle with cancer.
Garry’s legacy lives on in the memories he created, the things he built, and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Garry and his family.
