A Celebration of Life Visitation for Gary Logan “Goose” Cooper I, 63, of Thornville, will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street in Thornville. Gary was born in Newark on September 17, 1955, to the late Thomas Sr. and Mary Kathleen (Williams) Cooper. He passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018, with his loving family by his side, at the Altercare Nursing Home in Thornville. He was a graduate of Sheridan H.S., class of 1973; and had worked as an Operator for Union Local #18, Operating Engineers. He enjoyed being outdoors, snow, riding quads, mudrunning and playing softball, along with being with his grandkids and traveling out west, where he liked to pan for gold. He was a big jokester and loved making everyone laugh. He was an adventurous soul, with a wild and loving heart and will forever be missed! Surviving are his ex-wife Trenda Cooper, children Logan (Ren) Cooper, and Karissa (Jared) Carpenter both of Thornville, grandchildren Case and Cali Cooper and Nova and Gunnar Carpenter, step-daughter Jenya (Shawn) Whitesel ,grandchildren Hunter and Haylei Whitesel and his siblings Connie Kreager and Mark (Leslie) Cooper, sister-in-law Kathy Cooper and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Phil Cooper. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gary to American Cancer Society.
