Gary Kowalski

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Gary Kowalski, age 66, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Gary was born in Rockville Centre, New York on July 14, 1951 to the late Stanley and Beverly (Packard) Kowalski. He passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on December 14, 2017. Gary proudly served his country with the military police in the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was a dedicated police officer for many years. After retirement, he continued to serve his community as a private security officer. He enjoyed reading Tom Clancy novels, listening to Frank Sinatra, collected movies, was a gun enthusiast but most important in life was his family, especially doting over his grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Melissa Crase, Sarah Swisher Meyers and Joe Kowalski; and grandchildren, Brianna and Kynlee Crase and Paul and Bonnie Meyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many loved ones.
