Gary M. "Jake" Jacobs

January 8, 1954 — October 25, 2024

Gary (Jake) Jacobs of Newark, Ohio, was called to eternal rest October 25, 2024, at the age of 70. Born January 8, 1954 in the same city in which he departed this life, Gary's journey was one marked by unwavering commitment to his family and a commendable tenure at Owens Corning. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in his spouse, Chuck Dunfee; his children, Christy (Mike) Nielson, David (Chastity) Jacobs, and Kimberly (Ray) Compton; and his cherished stepchildren, Brandon Dunfee, Miles (Jenn) Dunfee, and Marley (Aaron) Miller. Gary's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Chase and Taylor Cox, Amberlyn Reeves, Madigan Jacobs, Caseon, Jenna and Matthew Compton, Braylee and Trae Dunfee, Mason Jackson, Kori and Nico Dunfee, Lucy and Gabby Miller. Gary is also survived by his beloved sister, Paula McKee and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in passing are his daughter, Nicole Jacobs; his parents Paul and Marilyn Foster Jacobs; and brother, Douglas. His life was also brightened by the loyal companionship of his devoted dogs, Buddy and Buttons. Gary found his earthly paradise in the serene landscapes of the Outer Banks, North Carolina. In this place of restful beauty where he created countless memories with his loved ones, a private memorial service will be held to honor his memory and celebrate his life. The family suggests that in lieu of customary remembrances, donations be directed to the Alzheimer's Association in Gary Jacobs’ memory. It is through these acts of kindness that his spirit of generosity will continue to flourish. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Jake and his family.
