A memorial service celebrating the life of Gary G. “Dink” Scott, 66 of Newark, will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Celebrant Clifford Mason officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Dink was born in Newark, Ohio on September 30, 1958 to the late Gary Scott and Maxine (Hall) Scott, who survives. He passed away on October 9, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Prior to retirement, he was a machine operator at Owens-Corning Fiberglas for many years and was a member of the GMP Local # 244 and the Heath Eagles Lodge. He graduated from Newark High School, where he played on the football team. Dink enjoyed golfing, playing softball, riding motorcycles and listening to the Rolling Stones. Most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends, and he will be missed by everyone that knew him. In addition to his mother, survivors include his daughter and fiancé, Lindsey Scott and Travis Hawkins; grandchildren, Liliana Hawkins, Tobias Hawkins and Layla Hawkins; sisters, Nancy (Frank) Gostrue, Teresa (Randy) Fraunfelter, Trina Annarino and Lori (Scott) Shepard; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Eugene Scott. Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Dink to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dink and his family.
