Genevieve L. Varrasso

A funeral service for Genevieve L. Varrasso, age 76, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Paul Skaggs officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Genevieve was born July 28, 1938 in Wallace, West Virginia to the late Willard and Ruth (Hurst) Carrico. She passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Genevieve was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Assembly Church. She is survived by four children, Patsy, Jr. (Lisa) Varrasso of Newark, Ruth Ann (Bill) Moody, Charles Russell Varrasso and Michael Paul Varrasso, all of West Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Carrico of Colorado, Gary Carrico and Larry (Suzie) Carrico, all of West Virginia; sisters, Betty Ann Barr and Carol Seckman, both of West Virginia and Wanda Cantar of Canton; nieces and nephews, including nephew, William Parks, Jr. (fianc, Cindy Hottinger) and niece, Patricia (Doug) Hupp, all of Newark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy Varrasso, Sr., on January 26, 1973; a son, Joseph W. Varrasso in 1985; a brother, Roy Lee Carrico; and a sister, Margaret Parks. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
