George Litsch, Jr.

A funeral service celebrating the life of George Litsch, Jr., age 84, of Heath, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Newark, where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

George was born June 8, 1940 in Long Island, New York to the late George, Sr. and Eva Ann (Forst) Litsch. He passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

George was employed with Red Star as a truck driver for 40 years. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and rebuilding cars.

He is survived by a son, George Litsch III of Long Beach, New York; daughters, Tammy (Brian) Grigsby of Heath and Jennifer Litsch of Dublin; grandchildren, Steven Miller, Brian Miller, Tyler Litsch, Trent Litsch, and Maeli Pennell; great-grandchildren, Landon Miller, Jackson Miller, and Autumn Miller; sister, Lillian Ann Seaman of East Northport, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie Frances (Peldunas) Litsch, on January 20, 2024; and by a brother, John V. Litsch.
