A memorial service celebrating the life of George Edward McCullough, age 82, of Thornville, will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Victory Apostolic Church, 12180 Lancaster Street, Millersport, with Pastor Stephen Malloy officiating.
George was born September 24, 1939 in Harrisville, West Virginia to the late George Thomas McCullough and the late Dellie Stachie (Mosser) McCullough Hart. He passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
George retired from the Wayne Dalton Corporation in 2002. He was a member of Victory Apostolic Church in Millersport. He enjoyed horses, playing the guitar and singing, and was a member of several bands that played Country and Gospel music. He also enjoyed stock car racing and watching football.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Linn (Carder) Simmons Riggleman McCullough; step-children, Mary Margaret (White) Miller and her husband, Roy, of New Philadelphia, Jessie Martin (White) Martin of Millersburg, Mildred Jane (White) Harmon of Alaska, John Howard White and his wife, Vicki, of Hanoverton, and Clarence Wilson “Woody” White and his wife, Deb, of Millersburg; 11 step-grandchildren, 23 step-great-grandchildren, 14 step-great-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-great-grandchild; brothers, Robert William (Elsie) McCullough and Archie Russell (Della) McCullough of Thornville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Antionette Dale Gerbic; a step-granddaughter; 2 step-grandsons; and two brothers, Loman Thomas McCullough and Cecil Kenneth McCullough.
