George P. Finch, 72, Thornville, Ohio passed away on May 25, 2015 at his winter home in Glendale, AZ. After a lengthy, courageous fight, he slipped away quietly to meet his Lord and Savior.George was born February 6, 1943 in Barnesville, Ohio, the son of the late George F. and Dorothy (Detling) Finch. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Karen (Schradel) Finch, two sons, Fred (Leslie), of Dallas, and Bradley (Bridget) of Newark, grandchildren Jacob, Hannah and Annabelle, siblings Barbara (Larry) Robb, Pataskala, Beverly (Gene) Hughes, Phoenix, and William (Cheryl), Glendale, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Charles.A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, George retired from Utica National Insurance Company where he earned the prestigious CPCU designation.George was an active member of Thornville United Methodist Church. He was also active in the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Aladdin Shrine. He was a past District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th District.George was a past president of Grove City Sertoma Club and past president of Central Ohio Underwriters Association.Georges courage, grace and joy of life will be celebrated at Thornville United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:30 pm, burial will follow at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville.The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service.
