Georgia Lester Whitt

GeorgiaLesterWhitt, formerly of Hebron, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in Columbus. She was born in Harps Creek, Ky., on October 14, 1940, the 8th of 12 children born to George Washington and Mattie (Lawson) Lee. She was a nursing assistant and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Hebron Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving family: children Van Lester, Anthony (Barbara) Lester, Allen Lester, Starlene Kay (Dennis) VandenEynden, Yvonne (Greg) Layne, daughter-in-law: Melinda Lester, 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, brothers: Charlie (Barbara) Lee, Carl (Doris) Lee, George Lee Jr., Homer Lee, Rondal Lee, Dewey (Jo) Lee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son James Phillip Lester, her husband Henry Calvin Lester, and her five brothers Walter, Benjamin, Fred, L.N. and Henry J. Lee. Friends may call on Friday, February 28, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville, where funeral services celebrating her life will follow on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Joe Crowe as the officiant.
