Gerald "Jerry" Allen Franks

Gerald Allen “Jerry” Franks, 84, of Jacksontown, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born November 26, 1938, in Jacksontown to the late Elza and Lura (Swartz) Franks. Jerry graduated from Jacksontown High School class of 1956. He was the first Fire Chief of Licking Township Volunteer Fire Department. He also worked as Road Supervisor for Licking Township. He enjoyed camping, bowling, fishing, hunting, riding his golf cart, and cheering for the Buckeyes. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary K. (Royer) Franks; children, Karla White, Melissa (Matt) Hines, and Rick (Dawn) Franks; grandchildren, Derek (Lexie) Baker, Courtney (Ryan) Rose, Wyatt Franks, Cole Franks, and Samara (Noah) Johnston; great grandchildren, Bowen, Leanna, Layla, Kensi, Juliette, and Lainey due in July; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two dogs, Peanut and Roxanne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by mother and father-in-law, Don and Selma Royer; son-in-law, Billy White; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice and/or Licking Township Fire Company. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Hoskinson Funeral Home- Thornville, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville. Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service- Thornville, is honored to care for Jerry and his family.
