Gertrude (Trudy) Irene Kondrath (Kreager), 100, formerly of Harbor Hills and Tiffin OH, died peacefully on her 100 th birthday, May 21, 2021, in Broomfield, Colorado following several years with dementia.

She was born May 21, 1921, in Gratiot OH. The youngest child of the late Louis Ray and Mary Elizabeth (Smart) Kreager.

Trudy graduated from Hopewell High School in 1939 and attended Central State Teachers College in Mt Pleasant, MI. While there she met Robert (Bob) Carlson whom she was supposed to marry. Bob was a pilot and was killed in military training. Trudy returned to Zanesville OH for several years, where she was hired by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority, and held the position of president in 1944. Trudy met her husband John A Kondrath in the late 40’s. They settled in Harbor Hills where they raised their daughter Jan, born in 1949. They enjoyed golfing, bowling, swimming, and activities on frozen Buckeye Lake.  After Jan’s graduation, Trudy and John moved to Tiffin OH for John’s work. There she enjoyed entertaining at her home, playing Bridge, playing piano, and was very artistic.  After John’s retirement, they spent winters in Florida so they could golf year-round. Trudy was an avid golfer and played up until age 97. After John’s passing, Trudy moved to Broomfield Colorado in 2001 to be closer to her daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughters.  She loved flowers, watching the birds, and watching sports like golf, baseball, and football. Trudy also loved dogs, and the family had several Dachshund’s over the years.

Trudy is survived by her granddaughter Jennifer (Tom) Conroy of Broomfield, CO. and great granddaughters Kallie and Molly Conroy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John A Kondrath in April 1992; daughter Jan Kardatzke earlier this year; her brothers Harry and Howard Kreager; and sisters Evelyn Mason, Mary Cole, and Helen Hoskinson.
