Gladys Marie Mcfarland

A funeral service celebrating the life of Gladys Marie McFarland, 87 of Newark, will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday, April 1st, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and for your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing. Gladys was born in Newark, Ohio on September 6, 1933 to the late Albert and Myrtle (Fry) Johnson. She passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on March 20, 2021. Gladys was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed crafting and word search puzzles. Most important, was the time she spent with her loving family and friends. Survivors include her children, Phil (Dayna) McFarland, Paul McFarland, James (Sandra) McFarland, Vickie (Joseph) Reeves and Jeff McFarland; brothers and sister, Junior (Janice) Johnson, George (Diane) Johnson, Carol (Richard) Gregory and Sharon Gregory; sister-in-law, Emily Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McFarland; son, Carl McFarland; sisters, Ruth (Ed) Thompson and Julia (Ray) Starling; brother, Darrell Johnson; daughter-in-law, Debra McFarland; and brother-in-law, Robert Gregory.
