Glen W. Read

Glen W. Read, age 89, of Newark, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on December 12, 2017. He was born in Woodsfield, Ohio on December 2, 1928 to the late Glen W. and Martha (Barnes) Read. Glen proudly served his country in the U.S. Air National Guard. He graduated from The Ohio State University, with a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Arensberg Pharmacy for over 40 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Newark, where he served as an usher for years. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and was also an Eagle Scout. Survivors include his sons, Jeffery W. (Susan Jane) Read, Kevin W. (Susan) Read and Shawn W. (Amanda) Read; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife. Barbara (Carson) Read in 2009; and sisters, Eleanor Moore and Jean Tipton.
