A funeral service, celebrating the life of Glenn Allen Huber, 88, of Thornville, will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kirkersville home of The Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, with Pastor William Beard as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.Glenn died late Thursday evening, January 12, 2012, (His 49th wedding anniversary), in Lancaster following a brief illness. He was born in Outville, on April 26, 1923, the son of the late Orville Frederick and Mary Alice (Englehort) Huber.He attended Thornville schools, and served honorably in the US Army during WWII, seeing duty in the Phillipines and Japan. He retired in 1989 from Union Tool in Columbus and was a skilled tool and die operator.He is survived by his loving family: His wife Ramona (Tomblin) of Thornville, his children Kathy Huber of Somerset, Glenn A. (Kimberly) Huber Jr. of Thornville, his grandchildren Robert, Sheila (Leigh), Mark, Michael, Patricia (Brian Adkins), Mary (Jonathan) and Timothy; his 15 great-grandchildren; his sisters Goldie Appleman of Millersport and Elsie Rodney of Marion, IL.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children Frederick Allan Huber in 1992, a daughter Carolyn Storey in 2009, and a stillborn son Robert Huber in 1967, and a granddaughter Jessica Farley.The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 285 E Main St. (US Rt 40 ) in Kirkersville, and where an on-line guest register is available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.HOSKINSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, is honored to care for the Huber family.
