Glenn Edward Cooperrider

Glenn Edward Cooperrider, 93, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on June 10, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1931, in Thornville, Ohio, and graduated from Thornville High School in 1949. Glenn proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Shelly Company in 1995 after a fulfilling career. He was a dedicated member of Good Hope Church in Glenford, Ohio, where he worshiped. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his friend Ron Koehler, farming, playing blackjack and poker, showing his tractors, and using his convertible for local parades. He cherished his four-legged family members, Charlie Brown and Star. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose, and Amvets. He is survived by his wife, Lois Wood Cooperrider, daughter Deb (Chris) Zang, son Dan (Cathy) Cooperrider, Stepsons Doug “Arthur” (Ladonna) Wood and Scott (Summer) Wood; grandchildren, Chad Zang, Cara Zang, Bethany Painter, Jenifer Cosgove, Emily Pleasants, Nicole Dziengelewski, Brock Ross, step-grandchildren, Jami and Dakota Wood, 12 great- grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Julia Cooperrider. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Cora Cooperrider, his first wife Helen Cooperrider, daughter Kimberly Cooperrider, brothers Carl, Mose, Louis, and Robert Cooperrider, sisters, Thelma Greathouse, and Martha Anspach, and Uncle Mont Cooperrider. The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice for their loving care of Glenn. Family and friends may call from 4pm-7pm on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Hoskinson Funeral Home in Thornville. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, at 11am, at Highland Cemetery, Glenford, where the Thornport AMVETS #51 will do Military Service Honors. Pastor John Rushmeyer will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Hope Church or the Licking County Humane Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
