Gloria Mae Wright

A funeral service celebrating the life of Gloria Mae (Shreve) Wright, age 78, of Newark, formerly of Mount Vernon, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with PastorLewis McNerneyofficiating. Burial will take place in Hanover Cemetery. Gloria was born November 22, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Honnel Jesse and Mary Alice (Colvin) Shreve. She passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Kindred Healthcare of Newark. Gloria retired from Lazarus in Heath where she had been a retail associate. She was a member of the Life Church and taught Sunday School for over 25 years in both Heath and Mount Vernon. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Rhonda) Brown of Heath; daughter, Janetta (Brent) Jewell of Heath; step-children, Deb (Roy) Miller of Evans, West Virginia and Sherri Hersman of Newark; grandchildren, Jeremie, Anthony, Jennifer, Jena, Nichole and Nicholas; step-grandchildren, April, Amber, Rachel, Joshua, Misty and Dakota; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Dorothy) Shreve of Bicknell, Indiana and Ronald (Cheryl) Shreve of Greenville, Indiana; sisters, Margaret Forrster, Delois (Walter) Jordan and Mary Lou (Donald) Wilhite, all of Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Warren R. Wright, on March 15, 2013; a son, Robert Brown; step-daughter, Denise Guillet; step-son, Douglas Wright; a grandson, Jimmy Roach; and a brother, Donald Shreve. Friends may call from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.
