Gloria V. Hatfield

A funeral service for Gloria V. Hatfield, age 88, of Newark, will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating. Burial will be held at Wilson Cemetery.Gloria was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 24, 1925 to the late Samuel and Katherine (Lorey) Womack. She passed away on May 13, 2014 at Autumn Healthcare Center.Gloria was an electronics technician for Bendix Engineering in Cape Canaveral for many years. She was also a waitress at Frischs Big Boy and The Eatery. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas; playing cards; was an avid Elvis Presley fan; but she especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.She is survived by five children, Gloria Hughes of Ft. Myers, FL, Kathy (Harry) Burton of Heath, Glenn (Tina) Hatfield of Camden, Patricia (Rusty) Hatten of Newark and Mary Jo (Frank) Parkinson of Hebron; grandchildren, Wende Williams, Mende Ragan, Jessie Hughes, James Burton, Justin Burton, Cy Hatfield, Tecumseh Hatfield, Cole Hatfield, Victor Morrow, Toby Lennon, and Brittany Sheddingger; 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Leland Hatfield in 2011; sons-in-law, Larry Hughes and James Morrow; granddaughter, Andrea Hughes Kirschner; three brothers and four sisters.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gloria to the charity of your choice.Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Hatfield family.
