Gregory Alan Gerst

A memorial service celebrating the life of Gregory Alan Gerst, age 61, of Millersport, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Greg was born August 15, 1960 in Cambridge, Ohio. He passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at his home following an extended illness.

Greg was a 1978 graduate of Caldwell High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was employed in aerial engineering with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Greg enjoyed home and property improvement projects and planning. He will be greatly missed by his dog, Max.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Lynne (McNally) Gerst, whom he married June 8, 1991; his parents, Vernon Peter and Shirley Ann (Hill) Gerst of St. Clairesville; brother, Gary (Dacia) Gerst of Herrin, Illinois; nieces, Grace and Ashley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert & Eileen McNally of Granville; brothers-in-law, Mark McNally of Chicago and his daughter, Alexandra McNally, and Eric (Jodi) McNally of Noblesville, Indiana and his sons, Shaun, Garret, and Connor McNally.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Cadenhead.
