Gregory Wayne Grissom, 56, of Newark, passed away on October 21, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital, known as “Greg” or “Grizz” by his loved ones. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 28, 1965 to the late Joann (Schillinger) Grissom Bell and Gary D. Grissom, who survives. Greg worked for AEP for over 30 years, first as a draftsman, and then as a trouble dispatcher, and was known for his warm voice and colorful turn of phrase. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers and the Sports Car Club of America. Working on cars was Greg’s hobby and his love language. His craftsmanship and creativity live on in projects, now owned and loved by many family and friends. He enjoyed the open road as an autocross driver and motorcyclist. Survivors include his father and second mom, Gary and Linda Grissom; children, Sunny Grissom and Lauren “Alex” Grissom; brothers and sisters, Meg (Terry) Grissom Thompson, Rusty (Kirsten Dell) Bell, Beth (Walter) Domoracki and Joel (Johana Fina) Spokas; brother-in-law, Todd Musgrove; former wife, Erin Lennon; nieces and nephews, Aly Thompson, Benny Thompson, Harper Musgrove and Fletcher Musgrove; aunts and uncles, Carol Schillinger, Bob (Sylvia) Grissom and Stephen Grissom; close cousins, David (Ann) Grissom and Laurie (Tim) Johnson; and his K-9 companion, Josie; and many other cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nicki Musgrove; and step-father, William G. Bell.
