Gutheria Jones

A graveside service celebrating the life of Gutheria Jones, age 89, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, at Rocky Fork Cemetery, State Route 79 North, Newark, with Pastor Matt Van Winkle officiating.

Gutheria was born July 19, 1929 in Virgie, Kentucky to the late Arnold and Flo (Anderson) Casebolt. She passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Gutheria retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. She was a dual member of the Order of the Eastern Star Glenwood Chapter #303 in Bladensburg and Grove City Chapter #502. She served as Worthy Matron for three years and in 1999 was appointed the Grand Representative of Ontario in Ohio. She was a former member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. Gutheria enjoyed feeding and caring for stray cats and loved singing.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Pietrowski; sisters, Patricia Mathys and Sue Tipton; brother Gary Casebolt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; three brothers, Jack, Jimmy and Larry Casebolt; a sister, Mary Lou Casebolt Klein; and son-in-law, Pete Pietrowski.

At her request, there will be no calling hours observed.
