Harold Gene Bishop, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service for Harold G. Bishop, Jr., 68, of Hebron, will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Newark Maennerchor. 195 Orchard Street, Newark. Harold was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 25, 1955 to the late Harold G. Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Uhl) Bishop. He passed away at his residence on May 28, 2024. Prior to retirement, Harold was a planner with The Ohio State University since 2005. He was a member of the Newark Maennerchor and the Fairfield Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed blacksmithing, woodworking, gardening, boating and moonshining. Most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sandra G. (Shipton) Bishop, whom he married July 22, 2000; children, Blaze C. (Jessica Gordon) Bishop, Jason (Shana) Gloyd, Leigha (Chris) McGlone and Jonathan (Shailyn) Gloyd; sisters, Alicia Blackstone and Laura Deck; grandchildren, Trent (Laura) Lewis, Miranda (Chris) Tornero, Kaleb Gloyd, Madelyn Gloyd, Braydon McGlone, Ivy McGlone, Braxton Gloyd, Scarlett Bishop, Tessa Bishop and Eris Bishop; one great grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Bishop. Those who wish may make a memorial contribution in memory of Harold to the Newark Maennechor.
