A memorial service celebrating the life of Harold David Eagle, age 86, of Jacksontown, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Inurnment will take place in Jacksontown Cemetery at a later date.Harold was born September 10, 1929 in Newark, Ohio to the late Oren M. and Hazel A. (Robey) Eagle. He passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Pickerington Nursing and Rehab Center.Harold was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in England during the Korean War. He retired from State Auto where he had been head of the systems analyst department.He was a member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church, Newark Fly Fishing Club and Parkinsons Support Group and volunteered at Dawes Arboretum. He enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada and enjoyed OSU Football and Cleveland Indians Baseball.He is survived by his wife, Sadie Arlene Eagle; three daughters, Melanie (Rod) Myers of Canal Winchester, Leigh Anne Lawson of Granville and Laura Jane Sartini of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren, David (Mary) Sullivan, Jessica Sullivan (Adam Friedman), Jared (Natalie) Eagle, Kacey Lawson, Kenton Lawson, Kyle Lawson, Dillon and Quentin Cathers and Ava Sartini; and four great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Bates; two brothers, Ralph and Charles Eagle; and two sisters, Annabel and Aldean Eagle.Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Harold and his family.
