Harold "Jack" Lucas

A memorial service to celebrate the life Harold L. Jack Lucas, 73, of Newark, will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Martinsburg Church of Christ, 126 E. South Street, Martinsburg, Ohio 43037, with Pastor Don Allen officiating. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at Wilson Cemetery at a later date.Jack was born in Newark, Ohio on August 1, 1941 to the late Harold Glee and Stella (Buchanan) Lucas. He passed away on June 26, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.Jack was passionate about being a semi-truck driver for over 52 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He attended the Martinsburg Church of Christ; was a member of the Ohio Country Music Association and the Newark Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed bowling, tractor pulls, fishing, dancing and listening to his wife Roberta sing. Jack was also a great joke and story teller, but most important was in his life was spending time with his loving family and friends.Survivors include his loving wife, Roberta E. (Jack) Lucas; children, Tammy Heubner, Tonya (Bernie) Wolfe, Gladys (Russell) Cordle, Georgeann Rosengarden, Penny (Alan) Hutchinson, Teresa (Matt Hoadley), Gandy, Tina (Jeff) Ryan, Tammy (Barry Renderly) Persinger, Brian (Cassie) Farley, Gary Persinger and Mathew Persinger; brothers and sisters, Florence (Darrel) Spencer, Harry (Connie) Whitcraft, Howard (Shelby) Whitcraft, Charles (Rose) Whitcraft and Mary Beth (Dale) Kidd; 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sons, John Edward Lucas and Harold Luther Lucas Jr.; daughter, Julie Ann Lucas, and one infant brother.Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Jack to the American Liver Foundation by visitingwww.LiverFoundation.org.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Lucas family.
